Tobenna Erojikwe Partner

Mr. Erojikwe heads the Energy, Finance & Major Projects Team of the Firm, overseeing amongst others Energy/Power, Finance, Real Estate, Public Private Partnerships, Urban Regeneration, Infrastructure, Mergers & Acquisitions and Probate.

Mr. Erojikwe graduated with a Law Degree in 1998 from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in January 2005. He also holds an LLM in Corporate Finance Law from the University of Westminster.

Mr. Erojikwe commenced his legal career with The Law Crest, as an Associate, specializing in Corporate & Commercial Law, Project Finance, Energy & Natural Resources and Real Estate Law, from where he moved to Alexus Associates, London as Senior Associate – Real Estate & Project Finance. He also worked at the London Borough of Barnet and HB Public Law, London, and held senior positions at both organizations.

Mr. Erojikwe has 8 years’ post qualification private and public-sector practice experience as a solicitor in England, with extensive experience in Joint Venture Structures, Complex Real Estate Projects, Highways, Planning, Contracts, Public Procurements, Project & Corporate Finance, Property, Private Finance Initiatives, Compulsory Acquisitions/Land Assembly/Compensation, Public Private Partnerships and Urban regeneration.

He was for many years the Senior Solicitor-Regeneration with the Legal Department of London Borough of Barnet and Legal Adviser to the London Borough of Barnet on Urban Regeneration, leading on the legal aspects of the planning and implementation of 7 major multi billion pounds public private partnership urban regeneration and infrastructure development schemes. He was also Legal Adviser to the London Borough of Barnet Pension Fund Committee.

He has delivered seminar papers on the area of Urban Regeneration Law, Public Private Partnerships & Governmental Compliance and has provided Law Society of England and Wales accredited training to Surveyors, Lawyers, Finance Professionals and Project Managers involved in urban Regeneration and infrastructure development. He has also attended several courses and seminars in his areas of specialization. He was an active member of the now defunct British Urban Regeneration Association and is a member of The Law Society of England & Wales.

In the last five years, Tobenna has been involved in ground breaking projects and corporate finance transactions in Nigeria and is listed as a leading Energy and Natural Resources Expert by Who’s Who Legal, the world’s leading legal directory.
